Is it possible to tune the old Jaguar car?

Since its inception, the Jaguar is the synonym of “gentlemen drivers” car, and undoubtedly the identity got strengthened with the passing time, and driving a Jaguar car is the dream of car lovers, even in the current scenario. Going through this craze the car enthusiasts do not hesitate in buying any of the classic models launched the British iconic car maker years back and that also by paying the requisite amount to its seller. Well, this might be quite surprising for a layman but not for them, because they know that by simply tuning the engine installed in the first generation of these cars they can enjoy its improved performance, which is similar to new cars launched by the maker.

Let us now move towards the options available for Jaguar tuning:

Upgrading the engine: This although can be considered as an expensive method of boosting the performance of an old Jaguar car, but installing the supercharger or turbocharger is the best way to enhancing the power and fuel generation efficiency of such powerful cars. But, as it will require to modify the whole mechanism under the bonnet and also the components associated with an engine this option, despite the best is the little bit expensive for the car lovers.

Remapping the Engine control unit: In recent times, remapping the engine control unit has emerged as one of the highly preferred and reliable methods for improving the performance of any car by any manufacturer, interestingly, Jaguar is not an exception to it. This, the process involves, changing the existing settings of the engine, that is determined for generating the power and delivering fuel efficiency. Once, the engine is remapped the original settings are replaced with the new settings according to the requirements of the car owner and result in increased power generation and fuel delivery efficiency.

Replacing the exhaust system: Replacing the existing exhaust system, with the aftermarket new exhaust system can also be regarded as the part of engine remapping process. Because, as the exhaust system is also inter-related with an engine, replacing the existing system, with the new one not only enhances the life of an engine but also results in the smooth transition of harmful gases from the engine.

Apart from above-mentioned options, there are few more options like replacing the existing air intake system, installing the carbon fibre wheels, upgrading the braking and suspension system etc, which could be helpful in enhancing the performance of classic Jaguar car with little investment.
